One Hundred Ways To Have More Fun This Year

I'm a big fan of personal growth books.

I love feeling inspired and learning different ways to add value to my life. Lately, I've been reading Laura Vanderkam's ,What The Most Successful People Do Before Breakfast, in an attempt to build better habits and make 2019 my most productive year yet.

One of the things that her book touched on was how much of our weekends and free time we waste because we don't have a plan.

It's a classic case of

"What do you you want to do?"

"I don't know, what do you want to do?"

-and nothing gets done.

Then suddenly it's Monday morning and you're back at work scratching your head trying to figure out where your weekend went.

I feel like we fell victim to this scenario so often last year and missed opportunities because we couldn't remember all of the things we wanted to do in the moment, but I think we found our remedy!

In the book, Laura suggests making a list of 100 things you'd like to do. It can be anything from home projects, restaurants you'd like to try, things you'd like to learn, big tasks that you've been putting off, etc.

Now when weekend plans are in question, you have a list of 100 things that you actually want to do ready to choose from.

I will say that coming up 100 different things that I wanted to do was actually harder than I thought. While the first 15-20 were a cake walk, it progressively got more challenging BUT as we rounded off the list we had a lot of small, fun things we wanted to do that could easily be done during a weekend or after work.

Here are a few that we're looking forward to the most!

12. Have couples photos taken again with our friends Ash + Miles

19.Visit the Civil Rights Museum

31. Make someone happy cry

49. Cook a meal from a food subscription kit

89. Take an online course & learn something new

92. Take Marta (because fun fact, I have never taken Atlanta's public transportation!)

96. Go rollerblading at a skating rink

I already feel like having a list on hand is going to make sure we actually DO more this year - and it's giving me things to look forward to!

I recommend sitting down and coming up with your own list. Let me know what you're looking forward to most in the comments!
